Douglas beat De La Salle 20-0 at a muddy Port-e-Chee in North One West on Saturday.
With fellow promotion hopefuls Blackburn losing away at Burnage, the Manx side have now moved to within a point of the division’s promotion play-off berth.
Douglas led 13-0 at half-time after two tries from paceman Sam Mete and a penalty from Will Cain.
In the second half, a try from prop Todd McDowell, converted by Will Cain, eased them away from De La Salle, but they were unable to get the elusive fourth try to earn a bonus point.
