Douglas beat Penrith 58-13 at Port-e-Chee on Saturday to stay in the top echelons of North One West.

Sam Mete, Liam Kirkpatrick and Aidan O’Shea all went over for tries in the first half with Bryn Snellgrove converting two and adding a penalty to give a half-time lead of 22-3.

Matt Allanson kicked a penalty for Penrith in response.

In the second half Douglas forged ahead with tries from Harry Raven, Conor Stephens, Mike Dunnett, Guy Wood and Mete’s second score. Snellgrove’s trusty boot landed a further four conversions and a penalty. Penrith were awarded a penalty try which kept the scoreboard respectable-ish.
