Isla Curphey ran in four tries as Vagabonds’ women’s side romped to a 38-10 win against old rivals Preston Grasshoppers on Saturday.

The result takes Vagas into fourth place in the Womens NC1 North West standings. Curphey bagged her first two in the opening 10 minutes and the hat-trick was completed in just over half an hour with Sammie Macdonald adding a conversion.

Olga Vega pulled one back for the Hoppers at the end of the first half and the teams turned around with Vagas 17-5 in front.

Sophie Henry battered her way over the line for Vagas fourth which made the game safe. Curphey then added another and Fran Hunt rounded the day off for Vagas.

Preston did, however, have the final say when Vega touched down for her second.
