With names pencilled into most end-of-season finals, the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl is still very much open for business with two important games this weekend.
Holders and favourites Western Vikings have already qualified for the final on May 6, however the other spot is still up for grabs with Vagabonds B and Emerging Nomads fighting over the places.
Vagas take on Western Vikings at Ballafletcher and know that a draw or better will confirm their place.
John Cannan’s Vagabonds haven’t beaten Vikings so far this season but have come mighty close including a 13-12 defeat back in November.
Vikings have a Plate final against Douglas Celts in just over a week so will want to put in a good performance this weekend and will start as favourites.
Vagas’ season has been far from perfect but with solid players like Jack Rowlands and Daf Lewis to keep the team on track, they may yet just spring a surprise.
Emerging Nomads take on Castletown at Poulsom Park and need a win and a Vagas defeat to stay in touch and potentially send the competition to a playoff game as this permutation would see the sides tied on championship points.
A tie is normally settled by the aggregate score of the two matches between the tied teams, however, with that standing at 58-58 a neutral venue playoff on April 29 may be the only answer.
This could, however, be the weekend when Castletown pull off a shock win to finish their tough season in style.
