Sure-sponsored Vagabonds welcome Ellesmere Port to Ballafletcher for this week’s Lancs/Cheshire Division Three encounter.

These two sides have not faced each other in recent years but prior battles have always been close.

Coming off the back of a pretty heavy defeat last weekend, Vagas will be keen to put things right and produce a good performance in front of the stalwart home supporters.

Following injury to David Parker last Saturday and the unavailability of David Godwin, it is expected that the impressive Tom Gascoyne will come back into the squad following his five-try masterpiece demonstration last weekend.

Also likely to return to the squad is Bryn Griffith who will undoubtedly add some extra beef to the pack. James Clarke will once again lead form the front and rally his troops to put right the mistakes and errors made in recent weeks in an attempt to get back to winning ways.

As expected, head coach Ryan De La Harpe has put the lads through their paces at training this week in an attempt to iron out any wrinkles that have crept in. Hopefully leading the backs will be Cameron Inglis at stand-off but, following a knee injury last weekend, there is some concern and doubt over his fitness.

Ross Pulman OBE is expected to be fit and well following a slight knock to his knee but knowing Pulman, he won’t want to miss out!

The coaching staff do have some very welcome selection headaches in the back line now that virtually all players are available and therefore the final starting line-up is being kept secret.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2.30pm with match day sponsors The Outback being present to oversee the game. All support is warmly welcomed.
