The second half of the 2018 stockcar racing season resumes this Sunday at Onchan Raceway.
There’s a full afternoon’s racing for ministox, Formula 2 stockcars, bangers and production rods starting at 2pm.
The mid-season Demolition Derby will take place, the winner of which receives a cash prize and 25 points added to their current championship points total.
Racing returns to Mondays beginning on July 2 at 7.30pm, the first of three meetings to decide Ministox Sword of State, Roy Ogilby Formula 2 Shield, Onchan Commissioners Cup bangers and Production Rod Gold Cup.
A large entry of visiting Formula 2 drivers from England, Scotland and our local drivers will contest the Formula 2 Manx Open Championship held over three meetings in July on Monday 23rd, Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th.
Micro F2’s driven by eight to 11-year-old children will be making their Isle of Man debut to race at these meetings, with 20 teams already confirmed. Another large entry of national ministox drivers will travel to race for their TT Championship. With the meetings counting towards their Gold top race (the main event in the ministox season) points are important so action is guaranteed.
National ministox will compete at three July meetings on Thursday 26th, Saturday 28th and Monday 30th. Racing continues on Monday evenings throughout August and early September.
The season will go out with a bang on September 9 with the traditional end-of-season demolition derby meeting - always a good finale to the season. All meetings start at 7.30pm with spectator gates open from 7pm, although Sunday meetings start at 2pm with gates open from 1pm. Full news and info can be found on www.onchanraceway.com
