Two surprise results in the Rossborough Mixed Premier League went the way of Vikings A when their nearest rivals both dropped points.

Vikings B came away with a shock win against Bacchas A when a goal from Mia Greenwood in the final minute of the game sealed a 4-3 victory.

Meanwhile, Valkyrs A lost 2-4 to Ramsey A after being 2-1 up at half-time.

With the results going their way, Vikings A had the chance to take command of the top flight by defeating Castletown Celts, which they did convincingly by seven goals to nil.

With teams only playing each other once this league campaign, Bacchas and Valkyrs must now defeat Vikings A when they face each other to have a chance of taking the title.

An exciting game took place between Bacchas B and Valkyrs B. Although not end-to-end, both sides dominated for periods of the match but the goalkeeping performances of Gareth Nicholson and Ava Treutler kept the scores all-square at one apiece entering the final 10 minutes.

During a period of Bacchas domination they won a penalty flick that was well dispatched by Craig Leece to put Bacchas 2-1 up.

Valkyrs began to dominate again but couldn’t find a clear-cut strike on goal and the game finished with Bacchas B taking both points on offer.
