The Utmost-sponsored Isle of Man swimming club competed in opening round of the National Arena League in Blackpool last weekend.

The men’s 14-15 years team of Michael Broderick, Thomas Curphey, Jim Dudley and Harvey Lowe broke the island junior record for the 4x50m freestyle team in a time of one minute 45.81 seconds.

Therefore, the quartet scored valuable points on the way to the team’s strongest points total in the Premier Division.

The KPMG-supported team also secured two wins, both coming from the open age 100m freestyle events, the final two individual events of the gala from Alex Bregazzi and Olivia Marshall.

The team now move on to round two at Macclesfield on November 10 where a repeat performance would see them qualify for the area final in December.
