With the mixed hockey league season coming to an end next week, titles in all of the divisions could be decided this Saturday.
First up is Vikings D’s attempt to sew up the Rossborough Mixed Division Three honours in style when they take on Castletown Southerners who were, up until the halfway point in the season, also bidding for the title.
Vikings Colts will be aiming to keep their own challenge going until the final week by beating Valkyrs D while hoping for a Southerners win. Elsewhere, Bacchas D take on Harlequins B and Saracens Sharks clash with Ramsey Rookies.
The Rossborough Mixed Premier League could also be decided, but is much more likely to go down to the final game of the season when the top two go head-to-head.
Vikings A will be much more wary of Castletown Celts this weekend after Celts managed a surprise result last time round, while the All Blacks will be hoping their second string can take points off Bacchas A. Should Celts fail to win this weekend, it would also mark their relegation.
Elsewhere, regional bragging rights are up for grabs when Ramsey and westerners Valkyrs go head-to-head.
Saracens Sabres have had an extraordinary season so far and will be desperate to earn promotion to the Premier League by beating Ramsey Ravens. Given their form so far this year, no-one is willing to bet against a Saracens win.
Harlequins A’s relegation could be decided this weekend if they fail to beat Bacchas B as well as Ramsey Ravens and Bacchas C somehow earning points themselves, the latter travelling to Peel to take on Valkyrs.
In truth the relegation shouldn’t be decided this week but we have seen stranger things happen this year.
Rossborough Mixed Division Two has two title challengers still in with a realistic chance of taking top honours, with Vikings C fighting to overcome Castletown Cammags and Saracens Colts taking on a very dangerous Valkyrs C.
This title fight could be turned on its head in a matter of 70 minutes depending on which way the results go.
Elsewhere, Harlequins Colts’ relegation will be decided if they fail to overcome Bacchas Colts.
