Triskelion Polo Club has secured an eight-year lease with Mark and Sam Hempsall of Ballacooiley Equestrian Centre.

The club marked the opening of its new ground last Friday when new and existing sponsors met with Frazer and Cameron Houston along with the club’s yard manager Katie Glaister, members Stuart Bainborough and Becky Netten, and IOM Equine’s Amy Rothwell.

The sponsors were given a tour which was then followed by a cutting of the ribbon by Joanna Crookall of Ramsey Crookall to herald a new and exciting chapter, marking the opening of the new grounds.

It is a significant upgrade in their facilities, with the two pitches putting Triskelion on a par with many UK polo clubs. One will be used for training and club chukkas with an additional practise area for clients, the other pitch will be used for matches.

With the two extra training grounds, it will ensure the main pitch will be kept in pristine condition for the forthcoming tournaments which are planned.

Polo first started in the Isle of Man back in 2014 with brothers Frazer and Cameron along with eight ponies from Leicestershire. The club now boasts 40 horses with around 30 registered playing members.

Managing director Frazer Houston would like to thank sponsors Ramsey Crookall, Appleby, Foraging Vintners and Quine & Cubbon, as well as new sponsors Roots to Shoots and Strand Veterinary Practice.
