The 2017 TT got off to a false start on Saturday with the cancellation of the opening practice because of reduced visibility.
After a generally good day, most parts of the island only experienced light spots of rain early morning - when heavier bursts, even lightning, had been forecast.
It was sunny and warm on most sections of the Mountain Course right up until road closing time at 6pm.
But then banks of mist rolled in on lower parts of the course and, despite the Bungalow area still being clear on the webcam, visibility in other areas was not good enough for airmed to operate.
After a couple of short delays, the session was eventually called off, much to everyone’s disappointment.
The revised schedule for Monday evening’s TT qualifying session is as follows:
18.20 Solo newcomers
18.25 Sidecar newcomers
18.40 – 19.45 Superbike, Superstock, Supersport (including newcomers) all classes except Lightweight
19.50 Sidecars.
Roads close at usual times, Mountain Road 5pm, the rest of the course 6pm.
