TT organisers are hopeful a break in the weather will finally allow a qualifying session to go ahead on Sunday afternoon.

Rain and low mist have lingered all week meaning competitors haven’t turned a wheel on the Mountain Course since Tuesday evening. Despite more poor weather on Sunday morning it is hoped things will improve in the afternoon.

A statement released this morning said: ’After consultation with the Ronaldsway Met Office, TT Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has confirmed that conditions are due to improve during the day and roads will close as scheduled.’

In a change to the schedule the sidecars will be first on the Course with a two-lap qualifying session.

The full revised schedule is as follows:

Sunday, June 23pm: Sidecar qualifying (2 laps)3.40pm: Superbike/ Superstock/ Supersport qualifying4.55pm: TT Zero qualifying5.30pm: Roads open except Mountain section6.30pm: All Roads open
