Wednesday evening’s TT qualifying session was red flagged and ultimately scrapped following two separate incidents in the north of the island.
The session had been in progress no more than 15 minutes when a rider crashed shortly after Churchtown, Lezayre.
Ramsey Fire and Rescue team attended the crash scene as a tree caught fire in the aftermath.
The rider involved has not been named, or his condition.
A second incident is reported to have occured at Ballacrye, one mile after Ballaugh.
An announcement to cancel the session was made at 7.10pm.ACU then released a statement at 8pm: 'TT Race organisers ACU Events Ltd can confirm that a rider was involved in a collision with a course car at Ballacrye during this evening’s qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT Races. 'The rider has been taken by airmed to Noble's Hospital. This followed an earlier incident during the Superbike session at Churchtown which the course car was attending.'
