Entries for Isle of Man Billiards and Snooker Association’s veterans competition - including the fee of £5 per player are now open to all players aged 60 or over on December 31 who are registered with the IoMBSA.

Entries will close at 7.30pm this Saturday, January 5 and will not be accepted without the entry fee or after the scheduled closing time.

This is a handicapped knockout tournament and matches up to and including the semi-finals will be the best of three frames. Should fewer than eight entries be received, the committee will decide whether this event will run or not.

Entries for the above can be left at Finch Hill or be posted to Darryl Hill, competition secretary, Thie Ny Chibbyr, Glen Road, Colby, IM9 4HW.

Entries will not be accepted by email. Completed entry forms and fees can also be given to any member of the committee.

- The Joe Davis Handicap competition will take place this weekend. As in previous years, the event will be mainly held on one day on Sunday, January 6 at St Olave’s and will be sponsored by Paul Smyth.

The tournament will be a handicap knockout event and matches will be the best of three frames throughout, with the first matches commencing between 9.40 and 10am.
