Vikings B and Castletown Celts go head-to-head in the Rossborough Mixed Premier League this Saturday.

This contest could prove to be a relegation decider for the southerners as Celts are currently adrift of safety, with Vikings sitting above them on two points.

Celts will be looking for a decent win here to claw back some of the goal difference, whereas Vikings will take two points regardless of how it comes.

Should Vikings come away with the victory, the southerners may struggle to earn the necessary points to stave off relegation in the remainder of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Vikings A take on a Ramsey A side struggling this year but that ran the All Blacks’ first team very close the last time the two sides met. Following on from Castletown Celts’ surprise victory two weeks ago, the northerners may feel they could earn a surprise win.

Bacchas welcome Valkyrs A to the NSC on Saturday and, with the westerners looking good this year and, having ran Bacchas A close until the final few minutes of their last meeting, there could be a surprise here, although Bacchas’ professionalism and sheer will to win should see them through.

Saracens Sabres have beaten everyone who have tried to get the better of them in Rossborough Mixed Division One battle this season - no matter who has gone up against Saracens, they have not been able to come out on top.

But after the opening day match between Saracens Sabres and Valkyrs B, the westerners have remained unbeaten and drawn themselves back to within striking distance and boast very strong squad as they face them once again.

If one game will spring a surprise based on the first half of the season, then this will be the match that provides it and could open the league up.

The bottom two sides face off in the relegation battle, with Harlequins A taking on Ramsey Ravens. If the latter fail to win this match, it is hard to see where they will pick up the required points to stay up.

The other game in Division One sees an inter-club derby between Bacchas B and Bacchas C.

Rossborough Mixed Division Two has seen a similar rise to the top of the table for Saracens Colts who have a commanding lead of four points.

In order for the others to catch them they need to lose two games at least and, although they have remained unbeaten, they have had close games that could have gone either way. While they do not look vulnerable, there are points to be taken away from them.

No-one would bet against Saracens taking both points on offer against Harlequins Colts but one thing you cannot do is doubt a Colts side in any way. Saracens Colts’ closest challengers go head-to-head in the shape of Vikings C and Valkyrs C who are both desperately trying to claw back the leaders.

Elsewhere a close game is in prospect when Bacchas Colts take on Castletown Cammags.

Rossborough Mixed Division Three sees Vikings D looking to continue their domination of the league when they take on Valkyrs D, while Castletown Southerners take on Ramsey Rookies, Vikings Colts welcome Harlequins B and possibly the friendliest game of the day sees Bacchas D take on Saracens Sharks.
