Vikings D could potentially win the Rossborough Mixed Division Three hockey title this weekend if results go their way.

Should they win against Ramsey Rookies as well as counting on both Castletown Southerners losing to Bacchas D and Vikings Colts going down to Valkyrs D, then the title will be heading to the All Blacks’ D team.

Although possible, it isn’t likely to happen based on the league position and the form of the teams that are required to lose, but there have been bigger surprises this year.

Elsewhere in the division, there is a bottom-of-the-table clash between Harlequins B and Saracens Sharks.

With the Rossborough Mixed Premier League passing its halfway point last week, Bacchas A are sitting pretty at the top of the table with a three-point lead over their local rivals Vikings A.

With the leaders taking on relegation candidates Castletown A and Vikings A going up against Valkyrs A on Saturday, Bacchas will be hoping they can increase their advantage if Valkyrs can improve on their previous performance against the Vikings A team.

Vikings B have raised a few eyebrows this year taking on established teams and they will be aiming to continue their good form against Ramsey A.

The northerners, though, could have an ace or two up their sleeve if the returning Antonio Ferreira finds himself playing for the first team this week.

Rossborough Mixed Division One seems like a foregone conclusion with Saracens dominating the title race so far. No-one is betting against the leaders continuing their form when they take on Bacchas C on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Valkyrs B and Bacchas B will both continue to try and keep Saracens honest when they take Ramsey Ravens and Harlequins A respectively.

If Saracens’ first team are dominating Division One, then their Colts side must be crushing the opposition in Rossborough Mixed Division Two.

If Vikings C lose this weekend against Saracens Colts then the latter will take a six-point lead into the final three games of the season.

Therefore if Vikings are to maintain a slim hope of taking the title then they must win to reduce the deficit, otherwise they will be relying on Saracens Colts losing their three remaining games which, based on the season so far, isn’t likely to happen.

Elsewhere, Bacchas Colts will be looking to close in on second-placed Vikings C when they take on Valkyrs C who are another side looking to steal the runners-up spot from under the noses of the All Blacks.

A relegation decider is on the cards when Castletown Cammags and Harlequins Colts go head-to-head.

The Rossborough Mixed Under-16s sides have produced some fantastic hockey, with close games that have resulted in an equally tight race for the championship.

Harlequins currently lead by one point with Valkyrs sitting in second place one point behind, while Vikings lie third two points adrift.

Harlequins should be able to maintain their lead at the top this weekend when they take on Ramsey while Valkyrs face a strong Bacchas team and Vikings go up against Saracens.
