The Isle of Man will go to the polls on Thursday, September 24, to elect 24 Members of the House of Keys for the next five-year term.
Each of the Island’s 12 constituencies will elect two MHKs, with seven candidates standing in Middle.
Here is a look at the candidates hoping to secure one of the two seats in the constituency.
* Alfred Caine - Independent
Alf Caine is an independent candidate and farmer who has spent more than 50 years building and running businesses, with experience in manufacturing, construction and farming.
He says he has spent the past five years challenging government decisions over accountability, planning, infrastructure, public finances and the pressures facing residents and businesses.
If elected, his priorities would include the cost of living, housing and making government more accountable.
* James Cochrane - Independent
James Cochrane is standing independently for the first time. He works in technology, data and policy science and describes himself as a 'data nerd'.
Outside work, he enjoys running marathons and walking. He has two children and two rescue cats, Hansel and Gretel.
His priorities are health and care, fiscal transparency, and the cost of living and doing business.
* Jason Moore - Independent
Jason Moore is an independent candidate making his first General Election bid.
He says the island faces major decisions during the next administration which 'we can't shy away from and delay anymore'.
His priorities are housing, healthcare reform and food security.
* Jane Poole-Wilson - Independent
Jane Poole-Wilson is one of Middle's sitting MHKs and is seeking re-election. She is currently Justice and Home Affairs Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
She says her experience in government gives her the ability to make a positive contribution to both the constituency and the wider Island.
Her priorities are pursuing economic growth and adapting to support a sustainable future.
* Andre Risha - Independent
Andre Risha is a consultant surgeon at Noble's Hospital and is standing as an independent candidate.
Drawing on his experience working in the healthcare system, he is campaigning for reform of the NHS, action on the housing crisis and greater accountability over government spending.
His proposals include reforming government budgeting, measures to discourage speculative investment in housing while supporting first-time buyers, reducing public sector bureaucracy and changing tourism VAT arrangements.
* Simon Sinclair - Independent
Simon Sinclair is an independent candidate and self-employed courier, standing in an election for the first time.
He says he has spent 20 years serving the community, from running a pub to delivering parcels. His two children attended Marown Primary School and he remains closely involved in the community.
Away from work, he coaches athletics, runs and walks his rescue dog, Bandit.
His priorities are food and energy security and health.
* Graham Taylor - Independent
