Thrill seekers across the island have kicked off 2021 by raising thousands of pounds for charity in sponsored new year dips around the island.
The Douglas dip broke its attendance record for the third year in a row, with more than 300 people taking part.
More than £2,000 was raised for Breast Cancer now, with donations still coming in via sponsorships and Justgiving pages.
Health Minister David Ashford was present to open the event, and was joined by another 500 to 600 people who gathered to spectate on the prom.
A record of over 50 dippers gathered at Glen Wylinn beach in Kirk Michael, braving the ’surprisingly mild’ water temperature to raise £140 for the Firefighters’ charity.
In Castletown, 30 people attended the dip organised by the Castletown Ale Drinkers Society which raised £1,400 which will be split between various charities.
Other dips took place in Peel, Laxey, Port St Mary, Gansey and Port Erin.
