Fireghters were called out this afternoon (Thursday) to reports of a boiler on fire at a home on Kensington Road, Douglas.

Two fire engines from Douglas attended the incident.

On arrival, crews found the end of terrace property smoke-logged and the occupants had got out of the building.

An oil boiler was found to be the cause of the fire and this was quickly isolated.

Fire chiefs recommend that all boilers, no matter what type, have regular maintenance.
