A man who tried to breach an alcohol ban twice has been fined £150.
Craig Phillip Teare, aged 33, of Tramman Rise, Anagh Coar, was banned from purchasing or being sold alcohol last May for 12 months.
However, on November 16 he tried to buy four cans of Carling from Andy’s Mini-Market in Ballasalla but was refused sale.
He told police: ’I didn’t realise it was all-island.’
On December 6 Teare tried to buy a pack of Stella from the Co-op in Duke Street, Douglas. He was refused and told staff he thought the ban had expired.
Advocate Michael Mudge said: ’He was under the impression the order no longer applied. The second time he believed his name had been left in the banning book by mistake.’
He must pay £50 costs.
