Two arrests have been made after an 89-year-old man was injured in a hit and run at Port Jack, Onchan.

Two men, aged 30 and 22 from Douglas, were arrested after being located on Victoria Road in the capital soon after there was a hit and run which led to two vehicles being damaged and a pedestrian aged 89 being injured.

A Mazda car involved in the crash was found abandoned on the Promenade near the Summerland site.

Police searched the area where they located to the two men, who have since been charged with offences in relation to the incident.

They are due to appear in court tomorrow morning (Monday).

The elderly man is said to be ’well’, but received treatment at Noble’s Hospital.

The police and family of the injured man would like to thank members of the public who helped at the scene.
