Brian Graham Lowther, aged 19, who is currently serving a sentence at the Isle of Man prison, admitted common assault, while Dylan Edward Wiseman, aged 17, of Cronk Grianagh Estate, admitted provoking behaviour.
Lowther also admitted an offence of property damage in relation to a separate incident.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court that, on December 10 at 10pm, the two teenagers were on Oak Road in Peel.
They were said to be drunk and approached a man who was on the telephone to his wife.
Wiseman was said to have shouted in the man’s face.
The man kept walking but then turned and swore at the pair.
Lowther was then said to have squared up to the man saying: ’What are you going to do?’
He then threw punches at the man’s head before they ended up on the ground wrestling.
Wiseman was then said to have grabbed the man before he broke free and police arrived.
Wiseman was arrested at the scene but Lowther ran off and jumped into a lake.
Police had to use Pava spray to restrain him.
Kicking
In a separate incident on September 15 Lowther was seen on Harris Terrace in Douglas punching and kicking cars.
Damage was caused to one car said to be estimated at £270.
The court heard that Lowther was currently serving a three-year sentence for aggravated burglary and was not due to be released until June 2020.
Wiseman was said to be in breach of a suspended sentence imposed for disorderly behaviour, criminal damage and affray.
Wiseman was granted bail and will be sentenced on April 4 after a probation report has been prepared while Lowther will appear in court again on February 21.
