A banned driver has been jailed for 18 weeks after being caught behind the wheel a month later.
Gavin William Patterson, of Hillside Avenue, in Douglas, admitted the offence as well as one of having no insurance.
The 34-year-old was disqualified in April and was caught driving in May.
Defence advocate David Reynolds said his client had driven after a lift home from work had fallen through.
Mr Reynolds said: ’He had access to a vehicle and he stupidly used it and picked someone up on his way home.’
He was also banned from driving for 12 months with an order to take his test at the end of the ban.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said: ’You shouldn’t have been behind a wheel at all, you don’t even have a driving licence.’
