A 48-year-old Douglas man has admitted breaching his community service order by missing two meetings and a work group.
Wayne Peter Berry, of Harris Terrace, was sentenced to the 120-hour order in October 2019 for a £8,305 benefit fraud.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that Berry had failed to attend a work group on January 7 and then not turned up for a meeting on January 10 despite being sent a letter informing him of the missed work group.
He then failed to attend a meeting on January 20.
The court heard he has completed 51 hours out of the 120 so far.
Probation services confirmed that they were happy for the order to continue.
Defence advocate David Reynolds told the court that Berry had gone through a difficult time with his family losing their home and him losing his job, with his mental health also deteriorating.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ruled that she would allow the order to continue but fined Berry £100 for the breach.
He was also ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.
He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £5 per week, deducted from benefits.
