A body has been found on a northern beach.
The body of a man, yet to be identified, was discovered washed up onto the beach at the Dog Mills, Ramsey, by a member of the public.
Police were called at just before 7am this morning.
A police investigation has been launched to identify the man.Police say the body does not match any individual currently reported missing in the Isle of Man.They will liaise with other jurisdictions and the national missing persons database as part of their inquiries.A Home Office pathologist will examine the body to see if identification can be obtained through DNA.Police say they are unable to establish an age of the body and what clothing was left was not enough to identify the individual.Similarly, they cannot yet give a cause of death or how long the body was in the water questions - but will have a better idea once the pathologist has carried out their examination. The body has been removed from the beach which is now fully open to the public again.
