A 30-year-old Douglas man has admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possessing cocaine.
The offences put Christopher Whorrall in breach of a suspended sentence imposed in February.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction and committed him to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court how police executed a search warrant at Whorrall’s home at Woodville Terrace in Douglas on May 25.
A search found 0.6 grams of cocaine, valued by police at £60, and 71.1 grams of cannabis, said to be worth £2,133.
He was taken to police headquarters and gave ’no comment’ responses during an interview.
In February, former professional cyclist Whorrall was given a 100-day sentence, suspended for 18 months, after admitting burglary, possession of cocaine, ketamine and cannabis.
Mr Swain submitted that the latest case should be committed to the higher court for sentencing.
Defence advocate Jim Travers submitted that the case was just about suitable to remain in summary court, taking into account the guilty pleas.
Mr Travers asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.
Magistrates opted to send Whorrall to the higher court for sentencing and he will appear there on December 10.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions to reside at his home address and contact probation.
