A businessman and one-time candidate of the Legislative Council, Andrew Gray Hardy has appeared in court charged with four counts of falsifying records and three of theft.

The allegations relate to misappropriation of funds from two companies.

Prosecutor Roger Kane asked for an adjournment saying case files had recently been received and advice had not been taken from the Attorney General’s office before charging so charges may need to be reviewed.

The case was adjourned until October 29. Mr Hardy, 48, of Andreas Road, Ramsey was bailed in the sum of £500.
