There has been further disruption to ferry sailings as Storm Ciara continues to batter the island today.
This morning’s sailing to Heysham has been cancelled and a decision on whether the 8pm service will go ahead will be made at 5.30pm.
A final decision on Monday’s 8.45am service to Heysham and the 2.15pm return will be made at 7am tomorrow.
There was a busy night for the DoI with a number of trees down across the island. The Jurby coast road at Smeale was impassable this morning due to a fallen tree.
A street light in King Edward Road in Onchan was blown over onto the road.
There was localised flooding on the Ramsey to Sulby road at Sky Hill and Lezayre Road, Glen Auldyn.
A spokesman said: ’Our teams are reporting debris on Shore Road (Rushen), Castletown, Laxey and Douglas promenades. As we expect further overtopping Sunday lunchtime clear-up operations will begin after this.’
Homes in Andreas were left without power for a second time, having had electricity supply restored.Manx Utilities posted: 'Unfortunately we have lost electricity supplies in Andreas again. Our staff are on site investigating and we will restore power as soon as we can.'Some motorists have been ignoring a road closure on Douglas promenade between Summerhill and Port Jack. This closure remains in place until 1.30pm today.
Sporting fixtures have been affected.The late morning easyJet flight from Liverpool and its return at 12.10pm have been cancelled as have the BA London City flight due to depart at 1.15pm and the return service that was scheduled to arrive at 4.25pm.The Wildlife Park has been closed due to the storm.
