Crews from Kirk Michael fire station entered the building wearing breathing apparatus and extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel.
It is believed that the fire was caused by overheated bicycle torch batteries that had been left on charge, in a bag.
The fire service is urging the public to follow manufacturers’ instructions when charging electrical equipment, and to ensure that adequate airflow is maintained around charging units.
