Police says a child seat made all the difference in a head-on crash in the north of the island.

Two vehicles, each carrying families, were involved in a collision on the Andreas Road on Sunday night.

One vehicle, which had a couple and their child inside, went onto its side and the other had front airbags deployed.

A police spokesman said: ’Fortunately there were no major injuries, especially with the vehicle on its side where the child’s car seat made all the difference. Even with your dearest in your car, it only takes a second to go wrong.’
