Civil Defence personnel were deployed to distribute lateral flow tests at four of the island’s high schools on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Lateral flow device tests (LFDs) have been used for routine testing of high school students in the island since June.

On Wednesday, the government rolled out a ’home testing scheme’ which offers LFDs to close contacts of Covid-19 cases.

Before this, LFDs were not available to members of the public, or stocked in island pharmacies.

On Wednesday evening, the government made them available to close contacts to collect free of charge at four high schools.
