Douglas Coastguard assisted with a evacuating a casualty in Douglas on Saturday night.

Just before 7pm, volunteers were called to assist paramedics from Douglas Head.

A spokesman said: ’Coastguards were able to carry the casualty out to a waiting Ambulance at the Pigeon Stream Car park on Marine Drive for transfer to Noble’s Hospital using our rigid stretcher,while Paramedics from the Ambulance Service and St John Ambulance attended to the casualty.

’The incident was jointly coordinated by Our Marine Ops Centre and Emergency Services Joint Control Room, all equipment and vehicles were back on station and ready for service again by 8.15pm.’
