A walker with ankle injuries was evacuated by sea from Dhoon beach.

Douglas and Ramsey coastguard were called out to the northern beach on Tuesday at just after 2pm.

A Douglas coastguard spokesman said: ’Due to the distance back to the road from the beach it was decided the safest and best way to evacuate would be by lifeboat.

’Ramsey Lifeboat was called and took the casualty off the beach back to Ramsey for them to be medically checked.’ The spokesman said it was a ’great team effort by all involved, with a good result.’
