The police have shared pictures from a reservoir that has been damaged by walkers.

Officers received pictures from Clypse reservoir in Onchan from a member of the public showing some of the damage.

The damage includes signs asking to go one way round the reservoir, protect animals and stop infection being ripped down.

Clearly marked gates are blocked by cars and bags of dog poo have been left lying about.

Officers said: ’It’s very busy and a popular area. We need to keep places like this open if at all possible as they are fantastic for mental and physical health.

’Clypse Reservoir and nearby green lane area.’

Police are also aware that there is a dead sheep in the carpark of the Sulby Dam.

The animal is described as having bound legs.

A spokesman added: ’We can confirm this is not suspicious. The animal sadly drowned and has been recovered from the water. The animal will be removed in due course.’
