Heroin and cannabis worth a total of more than £20,000 were found in a Douglas man’s home.

Police found the haul at Vincent Sims’ home in Tynwald Terrace on January 12.

The 29-year-old claimed he was being bullied into holding drugs and was living in fear.

He admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply and two counts of cannabis possession with intent to supply.

Warrant

Sims was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery where he will appear on March 4.

Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court how, on January 12 at 7.15pm, a search warrant was executed at Sims’ home.

Three wraps of what was suspected to be heroin was found in the kitchen in a cupboard.

Seven blocks of cannabis were also found and the total haul of both drugs was said to be in excess of £20,000 worth.

Victim

Sims was arrested and said: ’I’m a victim. I’m not in control of my life.’

When interviewed, he admitting supplying cannabis but said that the heroin and cannabis in the kitchen were not his and he was storing it for a person he would not name.

The total amount of heroin found was 67 grams.

Defence advocate Stephen Wood said that a basis of plea may be entered before sentencing.

No application for bail was made.

Sims was remanded in custody.
