A 43-year-old drink-driver who was banned for three years has won back her licence early.

Sheena Elizabeth Mair, of Salisbury Street, will have her licence restored from June 30 but must still retake her test and attend a drink-drive rehabilitation course before driving again.

Her ban was due to end in December 2018 and Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ruled that, to restore her licence immediately would have been too soon.

Mair told the court that there were requirements in her job to make home visits which would increase when a colleague went on maternity leave in June.

Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court how, on December 18, 2015, police had received an anonymous tip-off regarding a vehicle being driven erratically heading towards Peel.

Mair was spoken to in Glenfaba Road in Peel where she was living at the time and police saw her mounting the kerb and stalling her Skoda Octavia as she tried to park.

She failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 88 - the legal limit is 35 - and she admitted to police she had been drinking.
