A drinker ended up fighting with a member of staff at a busy town centre pub after he was refused service - at 3.30am.
Kyle John Berry visited the Nag’s Head pub on Victoria Street, in Douglas, on April 2, with friends, but refused to leave, despite repeatedly being told the pub was closing.
Douglas magistrates heard 30-year-old Berry became increasingly belligerent before scuffling then hitting the victim in the chest and running away.
He was arrested by police a few minutes later in nearby Cambrian Place.
He told police he could not remember what happened and was puzzled by his actions because he was not normally aggressive.
He was bailed until July 6 pending completion of a pre-sentence report.
He must not enter licensed premises or contact the victim.
