Ryan Anthony Mephan, aged 45, of Hilltop View, Douglas, has been fined £500 for careless driving after he sped past an off-duty police officer on a blind bend.

He pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on the Poortown Road, Peel, on January 21. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
