A motorist whose car tax was four years out of date said that he had forgotten to tax his vehicle.

Warren Clarke, aged 52, of Janet’s Corner, Castletown, was stopped by police driving a Saab 9-3 in Foxdale on December 28 at 5.45pm.

Checks found the car tax expired on September 30, 2014. He told police he had forgotten despite being fined in 2017.

The car was seized and taken to the vehicle test centre.

Clarke admitted the offence and was fined £300.

Advocate Matthew Wilshaw said: ’Mr Clarke regularly spends large amounts of time working. He works on film productions at Pinewood Studios. The vehicle has been sat on his father’s driveway for long periods of time. It was fully insured and he has now fully taxed the vehicle.’
