A youth was returned to their parents ’shaken but none the worse’ after emergency crews rescued them from a cliff at Port Jack.

At 5.03pm today (Sunday) Douglas Coastguards were called to a youth clinging to the newly coated cliff face in Onchan.

On arrival they found police had managed to get a line thrown down to help the youngster.

A coastguard cliff technician then reached the youth to securely recover them back to the top where they were ’checked over and passed to their parents shaken but none the worse for their experiences’, a spokesman said.
