Emergency services have responded to numerous flooding incidents across the island.
Crews from Ramsey, Douglas and Kirk Michael fire stations have attended to call outs, mainly in the Ramsey and Glen Vine areas.
Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service posted on their Facebook page: ’We are currently multi-agency working alongside the Department of Infrastructure and Civil Defence with pumping assets and sandbags to protect domestic properties that are under threat of being damaged by the heavy and persistent rainfall the Island is currently experiencing.’
Police have said they responded to call outs this morning related to the heavy rain and flooding.
DOI staff are currently working on the roads between Ballacraine and Union Mills.
Posting on Facebook, police said: ’Unfortunately some drivers are not adhering to the conditions and are driving far too fast putting staff (and themselves) potentially in danger.
’Roads Policing and Peel Police have been asked to patrol the area and WILL take action against those who are disregarding the safety of others.’The bottom of Strang Road is now closed - this is to protect road users, but also properties at the road side which were affected by "wash".Police have had reports that the closed signs are being ignored. They said that only people entitled to be on this road are the emergency services, and residents (for access only).
