A farm labourer has been fined £450 for being drunk and disorderly twice in six months.
Michael Peter Gawne, of Waterloo Road, Ramsey, admitted both offences and was also banned from entering licensed premises and buying or being sold alcohol for three months.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered him to pay £250 costs.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court that police on patrol saw Gawne outside Bordellos nightclub in Douglas on January 31 at 9.43pm.
He was seen kicking a railing and swearing and was spoken to by officers.
Gawne was said to be smelling of alcohol and unsteady on his feet.
He attempted to grab an officer’s body cam and was subsequently arrested as he began shouting: ’You’re all nonces. I’ll knock you both out.’
Another incident occurred on July 5 during the Ramsey Rocks event.
Members of the public reported seeing a number of youths at the swingbridge drinking and swearing.
When police arrived Gawne became hostile towards them as they performed an age check on him.
He started swearing and then squared up to an officer and started filming them on his phone.
Gawne was put on the ground and handcuffed but his anger continued as he spat and kicked out as he was taken to a police van.
The court heard that he has no previous convictions.
Defence advocate David Clegg said that his client was 17 when the first offence was committed in January and that his court appearance had been an ’eye-opening’ experience.
’He appreciates he has to moderate his behaviour,’ said Mr Clegg.
Mrs Hughes told the teenager: ’Had you listened to police you probably wouldn’t have been in court today.’
He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £50 per week.
