Cannabis and amphetamine were found on a kitchen table when police searched a home in Douglas.
Ivan Muzik, aged 48, of Marathon Drive, was fined £500 after admitting having £377 worth of cannabis and amphetamine valued at between £72 and £96.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court how, on September 15, police executed a search warrant at Muzik’s address.
Wraps of cannabis were found and a white paste, later identified as amphetamine, was found on the kitchen table.
Defence advocate Kate Alexander said that her client had previously been a long-term user of the drug amphetamine.
’He overcame the drug six years ago. He has had difficult personal circumstances of late and things have got on top of him,’ said the advocate.
’He did go and see the Drug and Alcohol Team who have referred him to Motiv8. He is very much committed to getting back on track.’
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined Muzik £250 for each offence and also ordered him to pay £125 prosecution costs.
