A 41-year-old Port Erin man has been fined £600 for failing to complete his tax returns.
Stephen Barry Marsh, of Fleshwick, admitted two counts of the offence and was fined £300 for each by Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court how, on August 2, Marsh had been convicted of failing to submit tax forms and had been given two months to submit them.
He was summonsed to court again on November 22 and asked for an adjournment which was granted until January 17.
However, Marsh failed to turn up on that date and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The court heard that forms remain outstanding for the years ended April 2014 and April 2015.
Defence advocate Kate Alexander said: ’He is aware the matter is outstanding and is trying to get money together to get an accountant to do his accounts.
’He has struggled financially but has got the money together in the last couple of days.’
Marsh was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.
