Fire crews were called out to a reported fire at a petrol station.
It happened this evening (Sunday) at about 6pm.
Two fire engines from Castletown fire station attended the scene.
Station officer Matt Tyrer said: ’Crews from Castletown were mobilised by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room to reports of smoke issuing from a fuel pump at a nearby filling station.
’Upon arrival of the first appliance, crews quickly isolated all fuel pumps. There was no visible signs of smoke or fire.
’Crews liaised with staff on scene and carried out an extensive check of the area using thermal imaging cameras, and were able to identify the individual pump at fault.
’This was handed over to the respective engineer to remedy.’
