Douglas fire crews attended the scene of a crash involving two cars this morning (Wednesday).

At 9.30am the team responded to reports of the collision at the junction of Johnny Watterson land and Cronk-ny-Mona where they found one person trapped in their vehicle by their injuries and not by the wreckage.

Crews freed the casualty from the vehicle using ’space creation techniques, using hydraulic cutting equipment’.

Station Officer Matt Tyrer said: ’The casualty was transferred to the excellent care of our colleagues from the Isle of Man Ambulance Service. Injuries are not believed to be life threatening.’

The crew remained in attendance until the vehicle was made safe ready for recovery.

One major pump and an enhanced rescue vehicle from Douglas Station was used at the scene.
