The fire and rescue service says it has responded to a number of events, in the east of the island today.
Shortly before 12pm, crews and three appliances were called to reports of smoke coming from Keyll Darree, the education centre at Noble’s Hospital.
On arrival, the cause was found to be a faulty microwave. Crews used a positive pressure fan to remove the smoke and were in attendance for about 30 minutes.
They discovered that a car had overheated, producing a burning smell and a smoke amount of smoke.
Crews were in attendance for about 20 minutes to ensure the car was safe.
Douglas fire station then responded to reports of a wildfire at Keristal, Port Soderick that was spreading between the gorse and vegetation.
One major appliance and a water bowser attended the scene and fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire before it took hold.
They were in attendance for about 45 minutes.
