Douglas fire crews worked with the Coastguard to prevent a boat from sinking on Monday.
The sailing boat was berthed near St Matthew’s Church on the North Quay when emergency services were informed it was in taking on water at about 5.50pm.
A fire service spokesman said: ’Upon arrival, the officer-in-charge was able to liaise with people on scene to formulate a plan.’
Further steps were taken to prevent diesel and oil contamination from the yacht with booms being deployed by the Coastguard.
