The fire service has been called to three incidents today.

They were called to Crosby, Castletown Road and Ballasalla.

Crews from Castletown were mobilised by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room to a multi vehicle road traffic collision at Douglas Road, Ballasalla at 10:45am.

The occupants of the vehicles had managed to free themselves and were being cared for by our colleagues from the ambulance service when crews arrived on scene.

At 12:15pm, one major appliance from Douglas was mobilised to a multi vehicle road traffic collision on Old Castletown Road.

On arrival, crews assisted the ambulance service and remained in attendance for a short while to ensure the vehicles were made safe ready for recovery.

The third incident came at 1:18pm, Douglas crews responded to reports of a bonfire which had got out of control.

On arrival, crews found the fire had spread to nearby trees and hedges. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel.

The fire service are urging the public to take extra care when having a barbeque or a bonfire, especially with the temperatures set to rise over the weekend.
