Two fire crews were called out to a house fire in Peel.
It happened at a house in Queen Street just after 10.30pm on Friday.
Station officer Tony Duncan said: ’The resident of the property reported a power failure immediately followed by the smoke alarm sounding. A fire quickly took hold within the electrical box situated in the hallway of the property which, in turn, began to spread to the roof space.’
Crews wearing breathing apparatus isolated the electrical supply before extinguishing the fire. A fan was then used to ventilate the property.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots. Crews stayed there for 90 minutes.
